LEDBETTER IRELAND UPDATE
MARCH/APRIL PRAYER LETTER
Vol. IV, No. 4
Dear Praying Friends,
"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." 2 Cor 1:20
Well, Amen! By the time that you get this letter, we Ledbetters will have been here in Ireland THREE months! It has
rained, snowed, hailed, and rained some more. It's been warm, cold, and blustery. We've seen gale winds of over 60
mph, to be followed by a super calm! You wouldn't believe it, but all of these weather conditions can occur during the
course of just ONE DAY! We have never seen such rapid changes in weather - but that is Irish weather! All in all, we
are settling in just fine! Normal routines have been established, and the major cultural adjustments have been made.
Thankfully, the kids have not been homesick at all since they were instantly well received by all the neighborhood
kids! Home school chugs along at a great pace (we actually have a room setup just for school and it makes all the
difference in the world)! Truly, God has blessed our move here to Ireland, and we thank all of you for your prayers
toward this end, for they were wondrously answered!
Current activities. Door-to-door personal work has been very educational to say the least! The people as a whole have
lost respect for ANY kind of religion. They only go to church because of the cultural significance, not because of
any relationship with God! As I meet these precious Irish people, they immediately associate the Bible with religion,
and they do not want any more of religion than they already have to deal with. This is not the end of the story though!
At the same time, there are many individuals who are seeking the truth about God, as opposed to a religious show!
Included among these that I have met is a 17 year old young man, named Ian Coffey. Ian has angrily turned from his
religion to intellectual humanism - he reminds me of myself at 17. He is lost! I have made some great progress with
him, but he has a long way to go before he breaks and comes to repentance and complete trust in Christ! Please pray
for him by name! Another man named Martin Sybold allows me to come anytime and talk religion with him. I
always tell him I offer no religion, only the complete forgiveness of sins through simple faith in Jesus Christ alone!
He too has turned intellectual and is lost in his sins! Please pray for him by name! There are others, but just pray that
the light of the glorious gospel would shine in their hearts soon as the word of God is opened, and read in their ears!
We are thankful for the following churches that just begun to prayerfully and financially support our ministry here:
The Bethel Baptist Church of Philadelphia, PA, and the Open Bible Baptist Church of Johnson City,
NY! Together, we will plow the field of Irish souls, and earnestly expect fruit for the glory of God!
Please pray 1) for these people: Ian, Martin, Dennis Sexton, Ann, the Walsh family, the Manahan family, and Mary
that they would come to know the Saviour, 2) for the soon start of a Bible Study in an Irish home, 3) for a meeting
place of our own to be found for Sundays, 4) for the Lord to provide us some puppets and puppet skits for our Bible
Clubs this Summer, and finally, 5) that we would be effective as we go! We love and pray for you all! Do Pray for us!
Yours For Ireland's Sake,
Craig Ledbetter
